Frequently Asked Questions

How do you charge for your teaching services?

There are 3 options:

  • Pay-as-you-go : you can pay after each lesson

  • Pay monthly : I can send you an invoice at the end of each month with the total of hours you have used and you can pay by bank transfer

  • Pay in advance (usually best options for businesses) : you can purchase a certain amount of hours which will be deducted each time you have a lesson.  Your company can decide to book the same block of hours each time or change it according to the budget available.

Where do you hold your teaching sessions?

There are two options:

  • Face to face in London Central or SW London
The lessons are a minimum of 90 minutes and can take place at the student's work place or house or in a café. If travelling you can also switch to Zoom or Skype lessons occasionally.

  • Zoom or Skype
This gives you more flexibility and the opportunity to study anywhere.  It also enables you to keep up with your lessons during your holidays or business trips.

Do you have experience in teaching children and school exams preparation?

For the past 25 years I have been teaching children as young as 4 and those preparing for French GCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels and even University exams.  I have various resources which are updated yearly and use teacher's website online for listening and exam preparation.

I have always loved working with children. As a student in France and in London, I was already tutoring children in my spare time, I have learned the importance of having the ability to develop relationships with my students to engage them in their learning.  I push my students to better themselves and give them regular homework to consolidate their learning. I believe I am firm, kind, focused and I am told I have a good sense of humour!

Will I have some homework to do ? I just want Conversational French

Even if your intention is to socialize with French people and not use French for work, I do recommend to do at least 1h30 homework per week, especially if you only have one lesson per week. It can be a written homework, watch a film in French or read a book.  I can also advise on some course materials to use, depending on your needs.

From the start of the course, do watch French TV series or Films and/or listen to French Radio whenever you have the time, so you can familiarize yourself with the language, the body language and the French Culture.
